Best Harvesters in China: Leading Brands Drive Agricultural Modernization and Global Expansion

China's harvester industry has evolved from a follower to a global leader, with domestic brands dominating the market and gaining increasing recognition worldwide. Driven by technological innovation, policy support and growing demand for agricultural modernization, the country's top harvester manufacturers have formed a distinctive competitive pattern, offering high-performance, intelligent and cost-effective products that cater to both domestic and international needs.
Currently, China's harvester market has bid farewell to scattered competition and entered a stage of head concentration, with a clear echelon pattern. Data from industry reports shows that domestic brands meet more than 90% of China's domestic demand for harvesters, and the market share of the top 10 enterprises has reached nearly 60%, with small and medium-sized manufacturers accelerating their exit from the market. Among them, Weichai Lovol, Jiangsu World, and YTO Group (Dongfanghong) stand out as the first echelon, leading the industry's development with their respective advantages.
Weichai Lovol ranks first in China with an annual revenue of about 17.4 billion yuan and a market share of 21.2% in 2025. It is the double champion in tractors and grain harvesters, leading the market in high-horsepower and intelligent agricultural machinery, and ranking first in exports in the industry. Its harvesters are known for high efficiency and low loss, with the market share of wheat and grain harvesters exceeding 55%, and the market share of high-end intelligent harvesters reaching more than 46%. Equipped with Beidou automatic navigation system and intelligent feeding control module, its products can realize unmanned operation and real-time monitoring of operation data, greatly improving harvesting efficiency.
Jiangsu World, ranking second in the industry, has obvious advantages in rice harvesters and mid-to-low-end tractors, with profound cost performance and channel barriers in southern China, and its sales volume is approaching the 2 billion yuan level. YTO Group, as a traditional powerhouse with profound heritage in tractors, has strong competitiveness in the 100-200 horsepower segment, covering more than 90 countries overseas with impressive export growth rate.
Technological innovation is the core driving force for the development of China's harvester industry. In 2025, the R&D investment ratio of leading enterprises averaged 4.7%, significantly higher than the industry average of 3.1%. These enterprises have established independent R&D platforms and carried out industry-university-research cooperation, continuously breaking through core technologies.
While dominating the domestic market, China's top harvesters are also accelerating their global expansion and gaining wide recognition in the international market. Customs data shows that in September 2025 alone, China's combined harvester exports reached 72.5294 million US dollars, a year-on-year increase of 55.27%, with 4,528 units exported, a year-on-year increase of 60.62%. From January to September 2025, the cumulative export volume reached 428.145 million US dollars, a year-on-year increase of 46.83%. The top 10 export destinations include India, Indonesia, Sri Lanka and other countries, accounting for 83.43% of the total export volume, among which India is the largest export market, accounting for 41.37% of the cumulative export volume.
The rapid development of China's harvester industry is also supported by strong national policies. The central government has arranged 23.8 billion yuan of agricultural machinery purchase and application subsidy funds in 2026, an increase of 9.2% year-on-year, and separately lists key components such as intelligent control modules in the subsidy catalog to promote the upgrading of the whole machine. The "14th Five-Year Plan for Promoting Agricultural and Rural Modernization" clearly requires that the comprehensive mechanization rate of crop cultivation and harvesting reach 75.5% by the end of 2026, which will further drive the demand for high-performance harvesters.
Industry insiders predict that China's harvester industry will enter a new stage of "technology-driven growth" in the future. The competition pattern will no longer rely on price and sales volume, but on technology, overseas layout and service capabilities. With the continuous advancement of green and intelligent transformation, China's top harvesters will not only continue to help domestic agricultural modernization, but also further expand their global influence, making greater contributions to global food security.
