Guiding Opinions on Corn Scientific Irrigation Technology

Basic information. This region includes the hilly area of the southeastern foothills of the Greater Khingan Range in Inner Mongolia, the western part of Heilongjiang Province, and the central and western part of Jilin Province. Since mid March, the temperature in most parts of the region has been higher than the same period in previous years, with more precipitation. Currently, the relative moisture content of the 0-20cm soil is 70% -85%, and the overall soil moisture is suitable. However, the southeastern part of Heilongjiang Province has locally excessive soil moisture.

Irrigation suggestions. This region is prone to seasonal drought, especially frequent spring drought. Pay close attention to weather changes. When the ground temperature in the 5cm plow layer remains stable at 10 ℃ -12 ℃ for 5 consecutive days, and the relative moisture content of the soil in the 5-10cm layer is 75% -85%, rush to sow. For farmland with good field infrastructure and irrigation conditions, shallow burial, drip irrigation, dry sowing, wet emergence and other technical measures can be adopted for corn oirrigation, creating soil moisture for sowing, and planting whole seedlings in one sowing. Land with excessive moisture content should be promptly drained to reduce waterlogging and disperse moisture to increase temperature. When the relative soil moisture content during the jointing, tasseling, and filling stages of spring corn is below 60%, 65%, and 65%, timely supplementary irrigation should be carried out. Dryland corn can promote technologies such as drought resistant water sitting planting, deep trenching and shallow covering soil sowing, open trench deep planting, etc., with supporting water retaining agents mixed with fertilizer and bottom application, covering and moisture preservation, and reasonable dense planting measures to promote drought resistance and seedling preservation.

Corn Irrigation conservation measures. The following water-saving and supplementary irrigation measures can be taken in the irrigation area of this region: firstly, the "one-stop" drought resistant water planting. When sowing, use a tractor to drive the drought resistant water tank to replenish water, with 3-5 cubic meters of water per acre. The second is to use flexible hoses (Little White Dragon) for water supply and replenishment. Follow the corn ridge and furrow for supplementary irrigation, irrigate 3-5 ridges at a time, and irrigate 30-50 cubic meters per acre each time, combined with irrigation and topdressing. The third is shallow buried drip irrigation. Immediately drip 10-15 cubic meters of seedling water per acre after sowing, and then supplement with a small amount of water during the jointing, tasseling, and filling stages of spring corn according to soil moisture, with a drip of 15-20 cubic meters per acre each time. According to the fertilizer demand pattern of corn, apply water-soluble fertilizer with irrigation to promote water fertilizer coupling, improve water fertilizer utilization efficiency and corn yield.
