Monitoring of Wheat Combine Harvest Loss Reduction

To further improve the reduction of machine harvest losses for grain crops, firmly establish the concept of "reducing losses is increasing production", tighten the responsibility of compaction work, and ensure the return of grain particles to the warehouse. FOTMA conducts monitoring of wheat machine harvest loss reduction.

On June 20th and 23rd, 2025, monitoring of the loss amount and loss rate of 5 wheat combine harvesters undergoing harvesting operations will be conducted at 4 monitoring points to raise awareness among farmers and farmers that reducing losses is equivalent to increasing income. The operator adjusts the cutting height, harvesting speed, drum speed, and appropriate feeding amount based on the maturity status of the wheat for mechanical harvesting. According to the simple measurement method of half meter width reduction for wheat harvesting, select the field with less natural grain drop, and randomly select two sampling areas within two round-trip trips in the stable operation area of the harvester to collect the number of fallen grains on the ground. After testing, the minimum loss rate is 0.0148%, the maximum loss rate is 0.4762%, and the average loss rate is 0.1855%. Through loss reduction monitoring, a basis has been provided to guide machine harvesting in reducing wheat harvest losses, achieving the goal of reducing losses while increasing income.
